The Ice Wolves made 2 deals today to help defend their 2009-2010 SJHL Championship.
The first deal saw the Ice Wolves trading 20 year old goaltender Kyle Jahraus to the Meville Millionaires for 20 year old Logan Herauf.
Jahraus spent 2009-10 with Prince George and Seattle of the WHL, going a combined 2-and-10. He had a 4.50-GAA and .871-SPCT with the Cougars. He posted a 5.28-GAA and .850-SPCT in three games with the T-Birds.
Logan Herauf (5'8“ 165lb forward), a first line player led the Millionaires last season in scoring putting up 27 goals and 38 assists over 58 games.
Coach Bob Beatty says that to be able to acquire a player of Logan's ability shows that the Ice Wolves are not resting on their laurels and that they will be a tough opponent to play against this upcomming season.
In a seperate move the Wolves pick up '92 defenseman Alex Vanameele from the Yorkton Terriers to complete last years Danyluk-Moar deal on Dec 1, 2009.
With the departure of 4-20 year old defensemen, Vanameele will have every opportunity to play quality minutes with the Ice Wolves this upcomming season.
