The road to a new season is officially underway for the La Ronge Ice Wolves.
Roughly 45 players from across North America gathered in Aberdeen, Saskatchewan, this past weekend as the organization opened its 2026 training camp. With returning players, new recruits and hopefuls competing for a spot in La Ronge, the weekend gave the Ice Wolves coaching staff its first look at a talented and competitive group.
Among the familiar faces returning to camp this season are Grayden Perozni, Everett Merchant, William Knox, Carter Turchak, Connor Hoemsen, Easton Kozak, Theoran Watteyne, Ryder McKinnon and goaltender Riley Zezel. The returning group brings valuable experience from last season while helping set the tone for the new faces looking to earn their place with the Pack.
Following the Aberdeen portion of camp, players made their way north to La Ronge, where preparations for the upcoming SJHL season continue.
For Head Coach Taylor Harnett and Assistant Coach Kyle Graham, camp is about more than deciding who will make the final roster. The coaching staff has been working to establish a new standard and environment within the organization. One built around hard work, accountability and what it means to play Ice Wolves hockey.
With plenty of talent in camp and roster spots on the line, the coming days will give players an opportunity to prove themselves while the group begins building the identity it will carry into the season.
Fans will get their first opportunity to see the Pack in action when preseason hockey begins Sunday, September 7, at the Mel Hegland Uniplex.
