Ice Wolves and Klippers Split Weekend Series

The La Ronge Ice Wolves were in Kindersley this weekend for a doubleheader showdown against the Klippers. The Wolves and Klippers are currently fighting for position in the overall SJHL playoff race, so there was a lot on the line.
Both games were tight contests, and both were decided in overtime.
Saturday night’s contest ended 3-3 after 3 and Wolves’ forward Hudson Cameron scored at the 3:30 mark of the overtime period to give the Wolves the extra point.
Sunday was a rare afternoon showdown that again had to be decided in overtime, only this time it went to a shootout. Kindersley’s Will Christian scored the only goal in the shootout and gave the Klippers the win.
Both teams ended up getting three points each this weekend, meaning that when the Klippers visit La Ronge later this month, there will likely be some extra motivation for each squad.
Wolves’ goalie, Logan Falk, got both starts against his old team and was very solid in each.
The Wolves next action is a long awaited home weekend showdown against the Weyburn Redwings on February 7 and 8.
See you there.
