Ice Wolves Claw Past Klippers 4-3 in Overtime

October 10, 2025 | Kindersley, SK

The La Ronge Ice Wolves battled through waves of pressure and came out on top Friday night, earning a hard-fought 4–3 overtime victory against the Kindersley Klippers at the Inter Pipeline Events Centre.

It was a gutsy win for the Wolves, who were outshot 48–30 but backed by an outstanding performance from goaltender Graham Brown, who turned aside 45 shots to earn Player of the Game honours.

The teams traded blows in a tight opening period. La Ronge got on the board first at 11:03 when newcomer Trevor Oishi wired home his first of the season, with assists from David Vitt and Mattias De Zen.

Kindersley responded late in the frame, capitalizing on a power play as Wil Christian tied it 1–1.

The second period saw both power plays come alive. La Ronge regained the lead early when Grayden Perozni notched his first on the man advantage, finishing off a feed from Vitt to make it 2–1.

The Klippers answered minutes later with a power-play marker of their own from Braydon Vandenbilche to even things again. But the Wolves refused to back down—Waylon Gardipy buried his fifth of the year midway through the frame, assisted by Oishi and Everett Merchant, putting La Ronge ahead 3–2 heading into the third.

Kindersley’s Wil Christian struck again late in the third to tie the game 3–3, forcing overtime.

In the extra frame, the Wolves faced adversity early, killing off a crucial penalty before seizing their moment. At 4:00 of overtime, captain Zane Normand delivered the dagger—his first of the season—off a setup from Oishi to seal the 4–3 victory and two big road points.

The Ice Wolves will close out the weekend with a second matchup Saturday night vs the Klippers.
