Ice Wolves commit 6 for upcoming season

HANSON, ISBISTER AND MOSSIMAN AMONG 6 TO COMMIT TO ICE WOLVES FOR UPCOMING SEASON

The La Ronge Ice Wolves are pleased to introduce the following prospects that have committed to the team for this season.

Kent Hanson a RW from Prince Albert, Sk who split time between the Ice Wolves and Prince Albert Ice Hawks last season should be a familiar face to the Ice Wolves faithful. Kent played in 14 games for the Wolves last year scoring twice and also adding a shootout winner vs the Estevan Bruins. He also tallied 21 points in 19 games with the Ice Hawks. GM/Head Coach Shawn Martin had this to say about Kent “A very skilled hockey player that spent a lot of time with our hockey team last season where I believe he learned a lot on what it takes to become successful SJHL player”.

Braden Isbister is a LW from Prince Albert, Sk who played with the Prince Albert Mintos and also played a game with Wolves last season as an affiliate player. Braden had a strong year with the Mintos last season where he tallied 32 points in 42 games.  “Braden did a lot of useful things for the Mintos last season and in his short time with us last year we came away very intrigued with all facets of his game”. Stated Shawn Martin.

Kade Mosimann is a D from Edam, Sk who just finished his last two seasons with the Prince Albert Mintos. Over that time he compiled 19 points in 82 games. As well he played 9 games with the Wolves last season including 7 in the post season. Shawn Martin had this to say “Kade was a guy we targeted a couple years ago in the Owen Laclare trade, we knew it would take some time for him to develop but if how he played in the playoffs is any indication Ice Wolves fans are going to be able to watch a very intelligent young man patrol our blue line for the next three seasons”.

Jarred Hicks is a LW from Regina, Sk who played last year with the Regina Rangers Midget AA team. Jarred had a big year in the SSMHL finishing 8th in league scoring with 47 points in 35 games to go along with 157 Penalty Minutes. “We listed Jarred in mid-season and after our staff watched him we feel he is a great fit for our style of hockey, he obviously likes to play a gritty game but his skill level is very much underrated”.

Chad Fasig is a LW from Sherman, CT who played games with Norwich University in the ACHA and before that played with the Connecticut Rangers U18 program where he scored 12 points in 19 games. Shawn Martin had this to say about the American import “Chad comes to us with some very promising scouting reports, last year he was having a strong camp with the Quebec Remparts until an untimely injury. We feel with his size and skill he is going to add a lot to our team this season”.

Marc-Olivier Lantin is a C from Newport, Qc who played the last two seasons with the College Notre-Dame Albatros in the Quebec Midget AAA league.  Over the past two seasons Marc has put up big numbers with 108 points including 53 goals in 84 games. “This is a player we have kept an eye on for the past couple of years and I feel we have found a player that will remind Ice Wolves fans of a couple of other great French Canadian players La Ronge has been lucky to have in Sebastien Beauregard and Marc Andre Carre.

To get your first look at these new Ice Wolves come down to the Mel Hegland Arena starting September 1st as that is when the 2016-17 season will kick off for training camp. Any questions or comments can be directed to Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin
