The La Ronge Ice Wolves returned to the win column Sunday at home when they dumped the Kindersley Klippers 4-2.

“We had lots of shots on net – our effort was there,” said La Ronge forward Jacob Cossette. “I really liked our defensive zone and track pressure today.”

Jacob Cossette, Jaxson Martin, Liam McInnis and Will Forsberg scored for the Ice Wolves. Topher Chirico was great in the La Ronge net, making 31 saves for the win.

Logan Linklater and Tyler Hilbig had the Kindersley goals. Cody Jaman was busy, making 49 saves in a losing cause.

“I think we earned it tonight,” said Ice Wolves Asst. Coach Kyle Schneider. “In the first period, it was tied at one, but we had six or seven chances too, but we just couldn’t get it behind him. Give credit to Jaman, he played a heckuva game.”

With the win, the Ice Wolves improved to 3-8-2 on the season, which still has them in 11th in the SJHL standings.

La Ronge will look for its second straight victory Friday night on home ice when they entertain the Notre Dame Hounds at the Mel Hegland Uniplex.
