November 28, 2025 — La Ronge, SK
The La Ronge Ice Wolves dropped a 5-0 decision to the visiting Weyburn Red Wings on Friday at the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre.
The first period proved costly. Weyburn struck just 2:17 into the game and built a 3–0 lead before the intermission, scoring twice on the power play.
La Ronge had eight shots in the opening frame but couldn’t solve Red Wings netminder Nate Stevens.
The Red Wings added two more in the second period—including a backbreaker with 0.1 seconds left—pushing the score to 5–0 heading into the third.
The Ice Wolves never got the special-teams spark they needed:
- Weyburn went 2-for-4 on the power play, scoring both early man-advantage goals.
-
La Ronge earned just one power play opportunity and couldn’t capitalize (0-for-1)
In front of a crowd of 717 fans, Graham Brown was busy from start to finish, facing 43 shots.
La Ronge generated 20 shots but found little sustained zone time. Weyburn’s structure clogged the middle of the ice and denied second-chance opportunities.
