Ice Wolves edged by Millionaires 3-1

October 25, 2025 – La Ronge, SK

The La Ronge Ice Wolves came up short in a hard-fought 3–1 decision Saturday night at the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre, as the visiting Melville Millionaires capitalized on special teams to pull away late.

Melville opened the scoring just three minutes into the opening period on a goal from Devon Winder at 6:22. The Ice Wolves William Knox responded at 9:33, burying a feed from Dawson Butler for his second of the year to even it 1-1.

The Wolves battled through multiple penalty kills in the frame, with goaltender Graham Brown standing tall as Melville fired 14 shots to La Ronge’s five.

Both clubs locked things down in a penalty-filled second period that saw nine combined minors. Brown continued to anchor the Ice Wolves, stopping all 13 shots he faced in the frame. Despite sustained pressure in the offensive zone midway through the period, La Ronge couldn’t solve Melville netminder Noah Sinagowitz, who turned aside all 11 shots sent his way.

The Millionaires broke the deadlock early in the third when Rylan Oatman converted at 2:05. The Wolves fought to respond but couldn’t find the equalizer, and a late Melville power-play goal from Preston Baerwald at 10:02 sealed the 3–1 victory.

Graham Brown registered 34 saves on 37 shots in the loss, while Sinagowitz turned aside 22 of 23 for Melville. La Ronge’s penalty killers were busy all night, going 7-for-8 while their own power play finished 0-for-5.
