The La Ronge Ice Wolves are thrilled to announce the hiring of Braden Malsbury, who has been named Director of Marketing, Communications and Broadcasting.
Malsbury will oversee the team’s marketing and communications efforts. He will also return to the broadcast booth for his ninth season of calling games in the SJHL.
“I’d like to thank the Ice Wolves for giving me this opportunity to work for a hockey team, it’s something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time,” said Malsbury. “I can’t wait to get things going and I’m looking forward to being back in the rink.”
Malsbury spent the last seven years in La Ronge working for MBC Radio as a sports broadcaster. He was in charge of broadcasting Ice Wolves games and he was also heard delivering daily sportscasts.
“We are extremely pleased to bring talented broadcaster and well-known public figure Braden Malsbury in as our Director of Marketing, Communications and Broadcasting,” said Ice Wolves President Grant Merriman.
“We look forward to great relations with our sponsors and the general public through his work, as well as a new future in producing our own radio and web-streamed broadcasts.”
Prior to coming to La Ronge, Malsbury worked as a television sports anchor and television news reporter. He’s a graduate of SAIT’s prestigious broadcasting program in Calgary and is a product of Red Deer County, AB.
Malsbury will start his new position on June 1.
