The La Ronge Ice Wolves continued to build momentum Tuesday night, skating to a 5–2 victory over the Warman Wolverines at the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre. The win marked the Wolves’ second in their last three games.
After Warman opened the scoring early, La Ronge answered quickly. Blueliner Trevor Oishi evened the score on the power play at 7:04, taking a feed from Evan Cook to make it 1–1.
La Ronge took control in the second period. At 11:06, Owen Turner buried a shot past the Warman netminder, assisted by William Knox and Justin Berezniuk.
With the Wolves pressing late in the frame, Captain Zane Normand ripped home a power-play marker at 17:03 to extend the lead to 3–1. Berezniuk collected his second helper of the night.
Warman cut the deficit to one just 40 seconds into the third, but the Wolves quickly responded. Defenceman Mattias De Zen scored an insurance marker at 7:51, assisted by Grayden Perozni.
With the Wolverines pressing late, Evan Cook sealed the deal with an empty-net goal at 19:59 — his second point of the night. Everett Merchant added the assist.
Goaltender Graham Brown was sharp once again, stopping 36 of 38 shots to earn the victory.
La Ronge’s power play clicked twice on five chances, while the penalty kill was perfect (3-for-3). The Wolves outshot Warman 49–38, showing their offensive depth and relentless forecheck.
