The La Ronge Ice Wolves wrapped up their preseason on Friday September 17th with a 6 – 0 loss to Flin Flon, splitting the exhibition series with the Bombers.
The split with Flin Flon was indicative of the 6 preseason games played by the Wolves who played three teams in home and home series, also splitting with the Melfort Mustangs and Battleford North Stars.
Ice Wolves Head Coach and General Manager Kevin Kaminski commented on the Friday loss: “Preparation tonight wasn’t any good at all from the start. We had a lot of passengers tonight – so with saying that this week is going to be back to work here, back to the grind.”
Kaminiski said the boys got free pass by not skating at 6 am Saturday, but that they would get back at it.
The first game of the season and home opener will be a home and home with the Nipawin Hawks. September 24th is the home opener at the Mel Hegland Uniplex and the September 25th game will be at the Nipawin Centennial Arena.
