Ice Wolves sign Franz

The La Ronge Ice Wolves are pleased to announce they have signed 2004-born defenceman Jamieson Franz to a letter of intent for the 2023-24 SJHL season.

“I’m grateful to get the opportunity to sign with the La Ronge Ice Wolves,” said Franz. “I’m extremely excited to be part of this organization. I’m looking forward to helping contribute to the team’s success next season by bringing a hard-working and positive mindset.”

The Lethbridge, AB product spent the 2022-23 season in the KIJHL with the Columbia Valley Rockies, tallying 21 points and 30 penalty minutes in 33 regular season games.

“He’s a very reliable defenceman,” said Ice Wolves Head Coach/GM Kevin Kaminski. “He’s tough to play against in his own zone, but he moves the puck well and will supply some offence. We’d like to welcome Jamieson to the Ice Wolves.”

Meantime, the La Ronge Ice Wolves open training camp Sept. 5 at the Mel Hegland Uniplex.
