Ice Wolves solve Stars 

The La Ronge Ice Wolves concluded their pre-season schedule with a 4-3 overtime win Sunday afternoon at home versus the Battlefords North Stars.

Tyler Gyori ended the contest 2:08 into the extra session. Payton Hu scored twice in regulation for the Ice Wolves, while Dylan Handel had the other marker. Topher Chirico was sensational, stopping 42 shots in the victory. 

Meatime, Andrew Casellato, Matthew Biros and Rylan Williams found the back of the net for the Battlefords.

With the victory, the Ice Wolves finished their pre-season with a 2-4 record. La Ronge will open the regular season Friday night on the road in Melfort versus the Mustangs.

La Ronge’s home opener is slated for Saturday evening at the Mel Hegland Uniplex when they entertain the Nipawin Hawks.
