The La Ronge Ice Wolves are off to a good start in putting together their 26-27 roster! Besides being the youngest team in the league this year and looking to return most of the team as veterans, our scouts and coaches have been busy working on future Ice Wolf stars.
Our current lineup has 7 players in the top 30 in rookie scoring. The average age of this group is 17.7 years. With the success they have had this year older teams with more 19 and 20-year-olds, we look forward to the next few years as they mature.
In addition, and to keep building our roster, we have recently signed our 2024 08 draft pick Brendan Jones who is currently with the AAA Estevan Bears. Brendan has 57 points in 42 games with the Bears this year, and has suited up for 1 game with the Wolves.
We have also signed 08 Carter Hudyma who has 44 points in 38 games with AAA Tisdale Trojans this season. Carter was acquired in the Trevor Oshie trade with Warman earlier this year.
We look forward to seeing all our prospects and many veterans at our spring camp April 24 – 26 in Aberdeen. Saskatchewan players 06 – 11 are eligible to join, and out of province players 08 or older.
