The La Ronge Ice Wolves are heading into the 2026-27 season with a new leadership team, welcoming Taylor Harnett as Head Coach and Assistant General Manager and Bob Beatty as General Manager.
Harnett comes to La Ronge with more than a decade of junior hockey coaching experience across Western Canada and the United States. A member of Carry the Kettle First Nation, he has coached in the BCHL, NAHL, MJHL and AJHL, most recently serving as Head Coach and General Manager of the Devon Xtreme.
Prior to his time in Alberta, Harnett spent seven seasons behind the bench of the Waywayseecappo Wolverines of the MJHL, leading the team to three playoff appearances and earning a nomination for MJHL Coach of the Year.
Joining Harnett is a familiar face to Ice Wolves fans. Bob Beatty returns to La Ronge as General Manager after previously serving as the team’s Head Coach and GM from 2004 to 2013.
Beatty led the Ice Wolves to back-to-back SJHL championships in 2010 and 2011, the only two league championships in franchise history. A La Ronge native and 2022 SJHL Hall of Fame inductee, Beatty brings decades of junior hockey experience and a deep connection to the organization and community.
With Harnett bringing a fresh perspective behind the bench and Beatty returning with a wealth of experience, the Ice Wolves are excited to begin a new chapter in La Ronge.
