October 5th – Wolves vs Northstars

Ice Wolves drop two in a row in North Battleford. In the second game of a weekend double header, La Ronge loses 4-3 to their northern rival. Icewolves gave up two goals early in the first period. Mason Bueckert popped in his second of the season off of a beautiful setup by Jacob Cossette.
Unfortunately, the Stars’ Jackson Allan scored soon after to restore the Stars’ two goal lead going into the first intermission.
The second period finally saw the pack attack as goals from Hudson Cameron and Rylan Silzer tied the contest at three heading into the final frame.
Early in the third period, however, the Stars’ Braden Neinaber scored to retake the lead. Despite a valiant attempt, the Wolves were unable to solve Stars’ goalie Matthew McArthur before the final horn.
The IceWolves have dropped three tight ones in a row and hope to get back on the winning track on Tuesday night when they head to Nipawin to take on the Hawks.
