Rookie Goalie lights out in first SJHL Victory

SYDORA STOPS 46 SHOTS TO EARN FIRST WIN

Ice Wolves rookie goalie Dasan Sydora, was spectacular in a 4-1 victory over the Estevan Bruins on Sunday afternoon.  The Red Deer native stopped 46 of 47 shots to earn his first victory in the SJHL.  Dasan was spectacular in the third period when the Bruins had almost a full 2 minute 5 on 3 powerplay to preserve the win.

Captain Graham Smerek opened the scoring only 1.21 into the game.  Newly acquired defenseman Caley Bjork on his first shift with the Wolves added an assist to Smerek’s goal.  Other goal scorers for the Wolves were Brendan Boyd, Brett McNevin (who has 3 goals in his last 2 games) and Owen Leclaire.  Pavlo Zerebecky and Jason Berube each added 2 helpers for the Wolves who have now won 3 in a row.
