The La Ronge Ice Wolves are pleased to announce that graduating forward Ethan Strik has committed to the York University Lions (U SPORTS) for the 2023-24 season.

“I chose York because it’s been a goal of mine since playing junior hockey to go to U SPORTS or the NCAA,” said Strik. “York offers not only diverse programs and a high education, but it also offers a high level of hockey. It’s a place I feel I can develop very well.”

The Richmond, B.C. product is coming off an impressive 2022-23 campaign with the Ice Wolves, tallying 45 points in 42 regular season games. In 95 SJHL regular season games with the Ice Wolves, Strik recorded 62 points and 297 penalty minutes.

“It’s a great day for Ethan Strik and our organization,” said Ice Wolves Head Coach/GM Kevin Kaminski. “He put in the time on and off the ice. It paid off and he had a fantastic season. It’s great to see him going to York University. Congratulations, Strikker.”

Strik is the fifth player from the 2022-23 La Ronge Ice Wolves to commit to a post-secondary institution for the upcoming season.
