Tough Weekend For The Wolves – Oct 25/26

Wolves drop 2 in a row in weekend showdown with North Stars.
The La Ronge Ice Wolves hosted a two game series against the Battleford North Stars this past weekend. Unfortunately, the wolves were unable to come out on top of either game despite keeping both matches very close.
Friday’s contest saw goals by Wolves’ Seth Dragan, Nathan DaSilva and Cole Thomas but it wasn’t enough as the North Stars managed to put five goals behind Wolves goalie, Graham Brown.
Saturday night’s contest was a tighter contest with momentum swinging in favor of both squads at times. Wolves’ leading scorer, Hudson Cameron added his sixth goal of the season, while Mason Bueckert, Rylan Silzer, and Taite Donkin also scored.
Battleford had a 5-2 lead going into the third frame and the Wolves played a solid third period but couldn’t get a fifth goal to tie it up before the final horn.
The Wolves had their chances and looked dominant at times but penalties and Stars goalie Justin Maric made sure that a comeback would fall short.
Wolves head out on the road for four games in a very busy week.
Good luck Wolves, bring home some W’s!
The Wolves were without Head Coach Kevin Kaminski and Assistant Coach Kyle Schneider on the bench this weekend.
Schneider is in Red Deer, right now, coaching Team Saskatchewan at the WHL Cup.
Kaminski is in Florida attending the wedding of his daughter.
Rob Wilson and trainer Kyle Graham filled in admirably behind the bench while both of our coaches have been away.
