Wolves Give Bombers Four Points For Christmas

The La Ronge Ice Wolves wrapped up their 2024 with a home and home series against the Flin Flon Bombers.
Friday night the Bombers, winners of 10 of their last 11 games, rolled into the Mel for the first of the weekend contests. There was no scoring in the first frame, but Flin Flon came out flying in the second quickly putting two past Wolves’ goalie, Graham Brown.
Wolves got on the board in the third when newly acquired Brett Boucher scored one of the prettiest goals of the year and his first goal as a Wolf.
Unfortunately, that was the only goal that the Wolves could muster and when the final horn blew, Flin Flon came out on top 3-1.
Saturday night’s contest took place at the much maligned, Whitney Forum in Flin Flon and the boys from La Ronge were hoping for a different result. The game was indeed different than the previous night’s , a high scoring back and forth frenzy full of momentum shifts.
Flin Flon again came out on top, this time 7-5, sending the Wolves home stuck at 29 points in the standings.
Both games were exciting, hard hitting, fan fuelled frenzies leaving both fan bases awaiting the new year home and home rematches kicking 2025 off at the Mel on Saturday January 4th.
The Wolves are excited for 2025 and are looking to make a run to the playoffs and shake things up.
We hope that you will continue to Back the Pack and we look forward to many exciting moments.
