Wolves vs Northstars 10/04

Ice Wolves come up short in first game of Battleford double header weekend.
The Icewolves are in North Battleford this weekend for a two game stand against the North Stars. Friday nights contest was a close one but the Stars came out on top 4-2 after an empty netter late in the third by Battleford’s Elijah Anderson.
The Wolves took the early lead with a goal from Taite Donkin.
The Stars’ Jordan Grill tied it up shortly thereafter but a beautiful goal by Nathan DaSilva sent the Wolves into the first intermission with a 2-1 lead.
Unfortunately, that was all the goals the IceWolves could muster up.
Tallies by the Stars’ Colten Getzlaff and Nikita Ivaschenko gave the Stars the lead and ultimately the 2 points for the first of the two clashes scheduled for this weekend. A penalty filled third period sets the stage for a spirited clash tonight.
The two teams play again tonight at Access Communications Center, and the Wolves will be looking to come away with two points of their own.
