Ice Wolves win in OT!
The La Ronge Ice Wolves headed south for a weeknight showdown versus the Nipawin Hawks and are coming home with 2 points. The Wolves and Hawks went to overtime tied up at 3-3. Captain Rylan Silzer scored his second of the season at 2:41 of the first overtime period to get the Wolves back into the win column.
The Wolves took a two goal lead in the first period with markers from Gradyn Perozni and Nathan Da Silva.
The Hawks scored twice in the second period and the teams went into the second intermission tied up at 2.
Nipawin scored early in the third period but newly acquired Wolf Dmitri Toporowski scored shortly thereafter to even it up at three a piece.
Toporowski capped off his Wolves debut with a fight against Hawks captain Finley Radloff and both players were done for the night.
Overtime didn’t last long thanks to a beautiful breakaway goal by Captain Silzer.
Now the Wolves come home to prepare for a two game home stand against the league leading Melville Millionaires on Friday and Saturday night.
