Handel commits to Concordia

The La Ronge Ice Wolves are pleased to announce that forward Dylan Handel has committed to Concordia University of Edmonton (ACAC) for the 2024-25 hockey season.

“I was talking to them throughout the year, and they showed really good interest,” said Handel. “I heard really good feedback about Concordia. It’s close to home, so I really wanted to go there.”

Handel has spent the last two seasons with the Ice Wolves. In 97 SJHL regular season games with the Melville Millionaires and La Ronge Ice Wolves, the Beaumont, AB product has recorded 64 points and 56 penalty minutes.

“We’re really proud of Dylan getting this college commitment,” said Ice Wolves Head Coach/GM Kevin Kaminski. “Dylan came to La Ronge last season and he has been a tremendous Ice Wolf.”

Prior to joining the Ice Wolves, Handel spent most of the 2021-22 campaign with the Chase Heat in the KIJHL. In 31 games with the Heat, he tallied 35 points.

Meantime, the Ice Wolves are back in action Friday night at home when they open a two-game weekend series with the Melville Millionaires.
