The Ice wolves entered the last game of the showcase at 2-4-0 vsthe Kindersley Klippers who themselves where 3-3-0. Both teams had knocked off favourites at the event with La Ronge beating highly ranked Estevan 5-2 and Kindersley beating Flin Flon 2 -1 the day before.

In the first the Ice wolves set the pace by out shooting the Klippers 17 to 11. Daxton Lang would open the scoring with his first SJHL goal to give La Ronge the early lead at 6:15shorthanded. The assist went to Brandon Della Paolera. Kindersley evened up the match, capitalizing on a La Ronge turn over as Charles Obobaifo collected his 3rd goal of the season at 7:23.

At 13:38 Matthew Mazzocchi took a 5 minute major for boarding. The Ice Wolves made the Klippers pay by scoring twice on the power play. First Gavin Mattey found the back of the net at 10:12 getting assists from Brandon Della Paolera and Nate Looft.  At 18:35 La Ronge veteran Aaron Greyeyes and new defenseman Brady Stange would set up Cole Chauvette for a shot from the point through traffic that scored. This was also Chauvette’s first goal in the SJHL.

The Klippers came out with more intensity in the second, applying pressure that would lead to La Ronge mistakes that came mostly in the form of penalties. The period saw the Wolves called on four minors, three trips and a hook. The kill was effective, and Xavier Cannon was solid, but Kindersley finally broke through the gates at 16:18. They would add another even strength goal against a tired La Ronge squad at 17:50.

Coming out tied at 3 for the third, the La Ronge fixed its penalty woes and veterans dig deep with gritty performances from Captain Nolan Doell, Aaron Greyeyes, Tristan Lambert and Cannon in net. At 8:53 Tristan Lambert broke the deadlock on a rush orchestrated by Aaron Greyeyes, scoring on a beautiful top shelf shot over the shoulder of the KlippersPesenti.

Kindersley would pressure and pull Pesenti for the final minute, but at 19:37 Greyeyes sealed the deal with an empty netter for his third point of the night.
