Ice Wolves fall in Flin Flon 

The La Ronge Ice Wolves started their weekend with a 6-4 loss Friday night in Flin Flon to the Bombers.

Brynn MacLean scored his first SJHL goal, while Dylan Handel, Sage Roberts and Parker Layton rounded out the offence for the Ice Wolves. Eric Kahl was busy, stopping 59 shots in a losing cause.

Matt Egan scored twice for the Bombers, while Justin Lies, Riley Niven, Alexi Sylvestre and Anthony Piccininno also tallied for Flin Flon. Kenneth Marquart turned away 35 shots for his 16th win of the campaign.

With the loss, the Ice Wolves slipped to 15-33-5 on the season, which still has them ranked 11th in the SJHL standings. With Friday’s setback, La Ronge is riding an eight-game losing streak.

Meantime, the Ice Wolves will be looking to rebound Sunday when they head to Melfort to face the Mustangs at 3 p.m.
