Ice Wolves sign Kruger

The La Ronge Ice Wolves have signed 2005-born defenceman Aiden Kruger to a letter of intent for the 2023-24 SJHL season.

“He has great character, leadership qualities and an excellent work ethic,” said Ice Wolves Head Coach and GM Kevin Kaminski. “He also has a good first pass, plays a physical game and is responsible in the defensive zone. We’d like to welcome Aiden to the Ice Wolves.”

Kruger, a Grande Prairie product, recorded nine points and 71 penalty minutes in 27 games this past season with the Lethbridge United U18 team in the Junior Prospects League.

“I’m extremely thankful for the opportunity given to me by Kevin Kaminski. It is a true honour to be part of the Ice Wolves,” said Kruger. “I’m a defensive defenceman that plays extremely gritty and punishes opposing teams with my physicality and strength. I feel I can lead by example and bring energy to the room and team.”

Kruger will certainly bring some size to the Ice Wolves on the back end as he’s listed at 6’5” tall and 225 lbs.

In addition to Kruger, the Ice Wolves have also signed forwards Tyler Gyori and Zane Normand over the past few weeks.
