Sasktel Goalie of the Week: Karl Soneff, La Ronge Ice Wolves
The La Ronge Ice Wolves picked up four out of a possible six points this weekend at home and the common denominator in both of their victories was 19-year-old goaltender Karl Soneff. After a 31 save performance Saturday in a 4-3 win over the Notre Dame Hounds, Soneff followed it up with a 39 save outing against the Melville Millionaires Sunday, helping his team earn a big two points.

SGEU MVP of the Week & Bourgault Forward of the Week: Kian Bell, Battlefords North Stars
It was a big return to the line-up for last year’s SJHL MVP and Player of the Year Kian Bell. In his first three games back with the Battlefords North Stars he found the back of the net five times, including a four goal game Saturday against the Estevan Bruins. He also added five assists throughout the three game in three night road trip as the Stars took four out of a possible six points in southeast Saskatchewan.

SuperU Defenceman of the Week: Tanner Gold, Battlefords North Stars
Leading the charge on the blue line for the Battlefords North Stars this past weekend was Captain Tanner Gold. The 20-year-old Medicine Hat, Alberta product racked up six assists in three games this weekend and was steady defensively for the Stars in their pair of victories. Gold currently has a goal and 12 assists on the season in 13 games played.

DirectWest Rookie of the Week: Jeter Korte, Humboldt Broncos
The Humboldt Broncos are the lone team remaining in the SJHL who have yet to lose in regulation and a big reason why is because they continue to get contributions from up and down their line-up. This includes rookie Jeter Korte who had a big week for the Broncos, finding the back of the net three times and adding one assist. The 18-year-old currently sits with 4 goals and 5 assists on the season and is 10th in rookie scoring.

Saskatchewan Player of the Week: Ronan Buckberger, Nipawin Hawks (from Saskatoon, Sask)
Ronan Buckberger continues to produce for the Nipawin Hawks early on this season. The 17-year-old Ohio State commit racked up a pair of assists in the Hawks loss to the Bombers Tuesday and followed it up with another two assist effort Sunday in the Hawks’ win over Notre Dame. The Saskatoon product is now up to 4 goals and 9 assists on the season and is tied for 3rd among rookies in scoring so far this season.
