Wolves Acquire American Forward

PICKNEY, MICHIGAN NATIVE EXCITED TO JOIN TEAM

The La Ronge Ice Wolves have acquired 98-born forward Connor Smith from the Thief River Falls Norskies of the Superior International Junior Hockey League in exchange for a player development fee.

Smith adds more size to the team as he is is listed as 6’3″ tall and 176 lbs, He recorded 24 goals and 14 assists in 53 games as an 18 year old this past season in the SIJHL with the Norskies. The SIJHL is a Junior A League with teams in both Canada and the U.S.

Connor is from Pickney, Michigan and had 70 points including 54 goals in just 27 games with Pickney High during the 2015-2016 season. Ice Wolves Coach Evan Vossen anticipates that Connor will add goal scoring punch and size to the line-up. Coach Vossen has spoken with Connor a couple of times and he’s excited about joining our team.
