The La Ronge Ice Wolves dropped a 4-1 decision Friday night at home to the Flin Flon Bombers.

“I thought that was another complete 60 minutes from our group against a good hockey team,” said Ice Wolves Asst. Coach Kyle Schneider. “I feel for our guys tonight, I think we got robbed a bit.”

Jacob Vockler and Justin Lies both scored twice for the Bombers, while Harmon Laser-Hume turned away 43 shots for the win.

Meantime, Dylan Handel had the only goal for the Ice Wolves, while Topher Chirico made 45 saves in the loss.

“I thought Topher was excellent again, making 45 saves – that’s a lot of rubber,” said Schneider.

With the loss, the Ice Wolves slipped to 9-19-3 on the season, which has them sitting 10th in the SJHL standings following Friday’s action.

La Ronge will try to rebound Saturday night in Flin Flon when they play their last game of 2023.
