Ice Wolves end first half

The La Ronge Ice Wolves ended the first half of the season with a 4-0 loss on the road in Flin Flon Saturday.

For the second straight night against the Bombers, Topher Chirico was brilliant in the La Ronge net.

At the other end of the ice, Kenneth Marquart recorded his second shutout of the season. Alexi Sylvestre, Justin Lies, Carter Anderson and Anthony Piccininno found the back of the net for Flin Flon.

With the loss, the Ice Wolves slipped to 9-20-3 on the campaign, which has them sitting 10th in the SJHL standings at the moment. La Ronge is seven points back of the Estevan Bruins for the final playoff spot.

The Ice Wolves are back in action Jan. 5 at home when they host the Melfort Mustangs at the Mel Hegland Uniplex.
